MelioGuide Physical Therapy is the leading provider of Physical Therapy services and programs for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. We provide safe, effective and evidence-based exercise programs for individuals with osteoporosis, osteopenia and low bone density.
Our programs include exercise recommendations for weight-bearing that build stronger bones, posture improvement, better balance, flexibility, and core strengthening. We also provide guidelines on safe movement for activities of daily living and strategies for fall prevention.
Margaret Martin
MelioGuide was founded in 2007 by Physical Therapist Margaret Martin when she saw a growing number of patients searching for, but not finding, Physical Therapists dedicated to treating individuals with osteoporosis, osteopenia and low bone density.
Margaret focused her attention to servicing these patients. She wrote three books on osteoporosis and exercise. The first book, Exercise for Better Bones, is for individuals who want a general osteoporosis exercise program, the second book, Yoga for Better Bones, on yoga and osteoporosis and the third, Strengthen Your Core, on the importance of core strength for people with osteoporosis.
Building Better Bones is an online course for Physical Therapists, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Athletic Trainers, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants.
Over 12,000 health professionals have completed this course.
“The Working with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia course and website have both been great resources that I find simplifies my approach to providing safe and appropriate exercises for the variety of patients that I treat.” — Justin Mathew, BSc PT, Registered Physiotherapist, Bronte Physiotherapy, Oakville, Ontario
