Clients and readers often ask me for a list of recommended products for people with osteoporosis, osteopenia and low bone density. Here is my approved list of recommended products. In many cases, I have used these products, so I know them first hand.
Recommended Products on Amazon
All of the recommended products are available online at Amazon. I am not promoting Amazon. There are other places you can find many of these products but Amazon is hard to beat for price, service and availability. Where possible, I selected products that were available via Amazon Prime. However, since I favour quality of product over Amazon Prime, many products I recommend are available through a third party reseller on Amazon and not Amazon Prime.

Dynamic Tape is a very effective way to allow full movement while reducing localized pain. The product can be hard to find. In the past I have paid a premium to get it through different resellers so I was pleased to find it on Amazon.
The Mueller Adjustable Lumbar Back Brace with Lumbar Pad helps provide relief from back pain and can also be used to restrict movement that could put you at risk for further injury. Recommended to help relieve lower back pain from strains, sprains and muscle spasms.
The Reehut Yoga Mat is a 71 x 24-Inches wide mat that ensures comfort for all-purpose. With high density foam NBR material, the 1/2” thickness premium mat comfortably cushions spine, hips, knees and elbows on hard floors.
The Original McKenzie® SlimLineTM Lumbar Support measures only 2½” deep with the shape of a crescent moon. The SlimLine is ideal for elderly or petite people and those who cannot tolerate larger, more intrusive supports.
The OPTP Original McKenzie Night Roll maintains support while sleeping on the side or back.
The original OPTP Stretch Out® Strap is a durable woven strap, approximately 6’4″ long and includes multiple loops for conveniently targeting major muscle groups. Comes with exercise book that features color photos demonstrating more than 30 stretches for core muscles, the back, quads, arms, shoulders, hamstrings and more. However, you should follow the recommendations I provide in the Flexibility section of Exercise for Better Bones.
Perfect for developing core stabilization, lower-body balance and stamina. May also be used for gentle stretching and self-mobilization of joints and spine.
Weighted vests provide weight bearing throughout the body when you exercise or go for a walk. I have done a number of reviews of weighted vests for osteoporosis. Here are my favourites:
The square TheraBand Rocker Board offers an unstable and sensory-stimulating surface designed to facilitate rehab, post-rehab conditioning, and fitness applications.
The NeeBooFit Resistance Loop Band Set includes six exercise/resistance loop bands. The six levels include Light (7-11 lbs), Medium (10-17 lbs), and Heavy (13-21 lbs), X-Heavy (16-27 lbs), XX-Heavy (21-33 lbs), and XXX-Heavy (28-44 lbs).
TheraBand Latex-Free Resistance Bands are the perfect tool for resistance exercise in the clinic, at the gym, at home, or on the go.
This professional grade Burst Resistant Exercise Ball is ideal for your Exercise for Better Bones program.
The TheraBand Ankle Weights are ideal for home exercise programs. Available in three color-coded weight sets ranging from red (two 1 lb. weights), to green (two 1.5 lb. weights), to blue (two 2.5 lb. weights).

A number of my clients are unable to wear weighted vests, so I encourage them to consider a diving belt instead. Here is a diving belt that I think will work for most people:
I would recommend soft weights under five pounds. There are two different weight options you can use with the belt:
One of the biggest challenges women face when they experience an imbalance of their hormones is access to practical, quality information. The Hormone Cure by Sara Gottfried, MD successfully addresses this challenge head on.
A great way to improve your agility and balance is with an agility ladder. One of the drills in Stronger Bones, Stronger Body is perfect for this product.
